Delete your Arthya account
You can request deletion of your Arthya account and the personal information associated with it. This page explains how, what gets removed, and what we keep — and for how long.
Delete from inside the app (fastest)
If you can still sign into the Arthya Android app:
- Open the app and sign in with your registered phone number
- Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation
- Scroll to the Account section
- Tap Delete account
- Read the warning and tap Delete account to confirm
Your account is deactivated immediately on confirmation. You will be signed out and returned to the welcome screen. Re-installing the app and signing in with the same number after deletion creates a brand-new account; the deleted account cannot be recovered.
Request deletion by email (if you can't access the app)
If you cannot access the app — for example, you lost the phone with your registered number, your number was disconnected, or you signed out and can't sign back in — email us with your deletion request:
- To: grievance@shreerajdeepfinance.co
- Subject: Account deletion request
- Include: the phone number registered with your Arthya account (with the
+91country code), so we can locate your record
We will verify the request via a separate channel (typically by sending an SMS / WhatsApp message to the registered number, or by asking for information only you would know) and process the deletion within 7 business days of verification. You will receive an email confirmation once your account is deleted.
For privacy reasons we cannot delete accounts on the basis of an unverified email request alone. The verification step protects you from someone else maliciously deleting your account.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account:
- Your phone number is anonymized immediately (replaced with an internal placeholder) so it can no longer be used to sign in or identify you
- Your name, email, address, and profile picture are removed immediately
- Your account is marked deleted in our records
After a 30-day grace period (during which the deletion can be reversed only by support intervention, in case of accidental deletion), the following is permanently and irreversibly removed from our active production database:
- Your user record
- Your loan applications submitted through Arthya
- Your support tickets
What we retain after deletion
We retain a small subset of information after account deletion. We do this only where retention is required by law or to protect against fraud / abuse:
- Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics (e.g., counts of total applications by month) used for internal analytics — these contain no personal information
- Audit log entries of administrative actions on your data (e.g., when your account was deleted, by what mechanism) — required for compliance audits
- Transactional records required to be retained under Indian financial regulations (Reserve Bank of India directions, the IT Act, the DPDP Act, the Income Tax Act) for the legally mandated retention period. We do not retain any document or identifier beyond what those laws require, and access to retained records is restricted to authorized personnel
What we don't have access to delete
Where you submitted a loan application that was forwarded to a third-party lending partner (an RBI-registered NBFC or bank), the partner becomes an independent data controller for the data they received. To request deletion of your information from a lending partner, please contact that partner directly using the grievance address on their own website. We can help you identify which partner(s) received your data on request.
